The Stories Behind the Photographs
Every photograph begins long before the click of the shutter. It starts with an idea, a feeling, or a simple moment of curiosity that draws me toward the subject. Over time, I’ve realized that my artwork isn’t complete until I share the story of how it came to be. That’s why I’ve created new pages on my website dedicated to the stories behind my photographs.
A Window Into My Creative Process
Each of my fine art pieces—whether a Still Life Light Painting or an Architectural Nightscape—has its own unique journey. These stories take you behind the scenes, revealing what inspired each composition, how I approached the lighting, and what I hoped to convey through form, texture, and mood. You’ll learn about the challenges, the unexpected discoveries, and the small moments of inspiration that shaped each image.
Still Life and Nightscapes Reimagined
In my still life series, I sculpt light across fruit, flowers, and vintage electronics in total darkness, building the image one exposure at a time. My nightscapes reimagine familiar Pittsboro landmarks, transforming them into dreamlike nocturnal scenes through careful post-processing. These stories bring each photograph to life—not just showing how it was made, but why it was made.
Explore, Connect, and Collect
I invite you to explore these new pages and immerse yourself in the creative process that defines my work. Each story includes links to view the artwork in a room setting, learn more about its technical and artistic details, and, if you feel a connection, to purchase a print—either directly from my website or through the Pittsboro Gallery of Arts.
Every piece I create is cataloged, serialized, and printed with care in my studio, ensuring that each collector receives not only a fine art print but also a fragment of the story that inspired it.
