My Forsythia still life photography took second place in the color category at the Cary Photographic Artists 16th Annual Open Juried Photographic Exhibit. I submitted three still life light painting fine art photographs to the show. The jury accepted all three. That is the first time that has happened for me.
Forsythia is part of my ongoing series of narrative still lifes. I build each piece the same way as the rest of my still life light painting gallery: a single subject, lit entirely by hand in complete darkness, one pass of light at a time. Seeing Forsythia recognized alongside work from other jurors and photographers in the region means a great deal to me. This is also the first time the jury has accepted all three of my submissions into the same show.
