Still-life light painting titled End of an Era: The Cathode Ray Tube featuring a vintage Simpson analog meter, soldering iron, test probes, and a disassembled cathode ray tube arranged on a workbench against a dark green background. The composition reflects the decline of analog electronics and the passing of a technological era.

London Photography Awards — Three Still Life Recognitions (2026)

Honored to share that three of my still life light paintings were recognized in the 2026 London Photography Awards, Still Life category:

🥇 Gold — End of an Era: The Cathode Ray Tube
🏅 Honorable Mention — 71 Seconds to Midnight
🏅 Honorable Mention — Midnight Cuban Diaries

These three works are among the most personally meaningful in my practice — each built through extended-exposure light painting around objects that carry memory, obsolescence, and the quiet weight of time. To have all three recognized together feels significant.

This year, the competition received over 4,000 entries from more than 30 countries, reflecting the continued reach and relevance of the award among both established professionals and emerging photographers. Winning entries were recognized across a broad range of photographic disciplines, including fine art, architecture, editorial, commercial, nature, people photography, and more.

Thank you to the jurors and to everyone who has followed this work.

Prints are available at the Pittsboro Gallery of Arts.

71 Seconds to Midnight
A moody still-life photograph featuring Cuban cigars, handwritten journals or diaries, and vintage objects arranged under dramatic low-key lighting. Deep shadows, textured surfaces, and warm tones create an atmosphere of mystery, nostalgia, and quiet reflection.
